Abandon All Hope
People torment themselves, God’s a woman, and hell’s a dorm room. This play nails it.
I was really moved. I laughed, I grieved, and there was real character redemption in each person
I’d like to give Abandon All Hope by Peter Fenton 5-stars! When I started reading last night, I told myself I’d read a few pages and then go to bed. I ended up reading half the play. I finished the rest this afternoon and all I can say is: WOW!!! I really enjoyed reading this play even though there were dark, uncomfortable moments that made me squirm a bit. I found each of the characters not only compelling but extremely relatable. I think all readers will be able to see a little bit of themselves in each of the characters. No character is completely good or completely bad – only human. I highly recommend Abandon All Hope to anyone. I cannot wait to reread it!!! Peter Fenton – you have a fan in me!!!
This is a five-star love review for Abandon All Hope by Peter Fenton. This play will stop you in your tracks and make you question, think, and evaluate your thinking and perspectives. Abandon All Hope allows the reader an opportunity to experience dark moments, yet there is a parallel track that leads you on a journey of empathy, reflection, and love. Just wow … this is not on a once-read and put away list. This is up for rereading and hopefully, watching it on the screen soon! Perfect for college theater departments, community theater, and friends to perform!
Absolutely loved it! Each of the characters has such distinct voices that are so spot on, it’s impossible not recall someone in your life that fits their descriptions.
