Kathy Hayes has spent more than 15 years working in business-to-business publishing and has been featured in the Akron Beacon Journal and the Cleveland Plain Dealer for her activism and letters to the White House. In addition to her presidential correspondence, she frequently writes letters, postcards and thank-you notes to other elected officials, political appointees and public figures.
Her civically engaged family and a childhood full of lively, dinner-table discussions about politics and current events are the foundation for her stubborn quest to hold the president accountable. Some of her fondest memories include seeing orcas and moose in the wild, and getting to sit in the copilot’s seat on the Goodyear blimp. Kathy has two grown children and lives in Ohio with her husband, a boisterous dog, two cats and an unreasonably large number of books she hopes to read someday. Dear Oval Office Occupant: Letters to the White House in the Age of Trump is her first book.
