Cheryl King is a born-and-raised Texan, mom, and educator. She is a graduate of the University of Houston, where she earned a journalism degree. She worked for 12 years as a copy editor and news editor in Corpus Christi and Fort Worth before becoming an English language arts teacher. After earning a master’s degree in literacy, she worked as a literacy coach, and now she is a reading specialist and dyslexia therapist. When she’s not teaching, she’s writing, reading, or spending time with her husband, two teen sons, and rescue bulldog Rex.
